MONOPRINT – COME AND TRY
Tutor: Penny Brewill
22nd February 2023 6.00 PM – 9.00 PM
£50 – 6 places
Suitable for: Beginners and Improvers
Come and get your hands inky and your creativity flowing in this taster session workshop which will introduce you to the technique of mono printing. This is a painterly technique and rather than creating an edition you’ll make a unique one off print. Ink is added to a plate using rollers or brushes and areas are removed to create a field of colour. Ink can be added with brushes or rags and stencils can be added to introduce areas of contrast.
This is a great session for getting to grips with oil based ink, mixing colour and applying inks to plates. Once you have learned the basics on mono printing you will bring your knowledge to every other technique.
Penny Brewill, a master printmaker will take you through every step and share lots of tips and tricks for creating effects in your print.
Our come and try sessions offer an introduction to some of the key printmaking techniques offered and practiced here at Seacourt, and a glimpse into the processes involved in creating hand-made prints. You will be guided and encouraged by experienced artists who use printmaking in their own art practice, in a professionally equipped workshop setting.
