Introduction to Printmaking

Seacourt Print Workshop offers a range of printmaking courses to everyone from beginners, intermediate and professional artists. We are excited to launch one of our first programme of courses in The Ulster Bank Building, Bangor, Northern Ireland! 

We are offering a range of courses, from a 2 hour CREATE print taster and one day workshops to a full introduction on a specific technique. Sign up to our newsletter to receive our ongoing programme, we drop courses every 6 weeks.

We can also design a workshop to suit your needs, whatever your celebration or project, we can build a creative session that you’ll enjoy together and you get to take home you own original artwork.

Join Nathalie Caleyron for a relaxed Autumn evening at Seacourt Print Workshop’s new town centre premises. Learn how to create your own Lino print, some hints and tricks, and enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco whilst you print. Nathalie Caleyron is a Belfast-based artist, who’s work is based primarily in Lino/Relief printing. Nathalie will introduce herself, share some of her methods and talk a little bit about the importance of keeping a sketchbook as a printmaker.

Learn the art of woodcut with professional printmaker and educator, Peter Brown!

During this course the participants will learn what is meant by the term relief print and receive a sound introduction to the process of wood engraving. They will see how to use different engraving tools to make marks of a different character and how to use these selectively in their work. They will learn how to print an engraving using a roller and ink and appreciate the quality that is looked for in papers when printing engravings.

This is a great introduction to screen printing and also beneficial for those wanting to develop their skills with this versatile process. It’s perfect for those wanting to take up membership at Seacourt to learn the process of creating a hand drawn and hand cut stencil screen print and by the end of the course you will know each stage of the process and how the studio works.
