PHOTO INTAGLIO

Tutor: Jill McKeown

Saturday 1st April and Sunday 2nd April 2023

10AM to 4PM each day

£150.00 – 6 places

Suitable for: Beginners

In this workshop Jill McKeown will share the process of photo intaglio. This course is ideal for anyone with a passion for printmaking and photography or digital imagery.

You will have an introduction to photo-etching using photopolymer intaglio techniques. A piece of original artwork (photograph, drawing, collage) is reproduced onto transparent or translucent film or paper and then exposed onto a light sensitive plate. The emulsion on the plate hardens where it is exposed and the softer areas are eaten away and will become the recesses which will hold the ink. Participants should bring a photographic or hand drawn image from which their plate will be prepared.
